Instructions
Preparation
In a large bowl, combine the cottage cheese, flour, baking powder, salt, and garlic powder. Mix until combined.
Add the olive oil to the mixture. Stir until it starts forming a dough.
If the dough is too dry, add a little water at a time until it reaches a soft and pliable consistency.
Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 3-4 minutes until smooth.
Cover the dough with a clean kitchen towel and let it rest for 10 minutes.
Cooking
After resting, divide the dough into 4 pieces. Roll each piece into a flat disc about 1/4 inch thick.
Heat a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat.
Place a disc of dough in the skillet and cook for about 1-2 minutes on each side or until golden brown and slightly puffed.
If desired, sprinkle minced garlic on one side of the naan while cooking for extra flavor.
Remove the naan from the skillet and keep it warm in a towel. Repeat with the remaining pieces.
Garnish with fresh cilantro if using and serve warm.
Notes
To store leftover naan, let it cool completely, then wrap it in plastic wrap or aluminum foil. Refrigerate for up to 3 days or freeze for up to a month. Tips: Don’t skip resting the dough, add water slowly, and avoid overcooking.
